Welcome to Wilcox Central High School Air Force Junior ROTC - AL-936

Our Mission is to "Develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community”

The objectives of JROTC are to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship, promote community service, instill responsibility, character, and self-discipline, and provide instruction in air and space fundamentals.

                                     WHAT IS JROTC?

There is no military service obligation incurred by being a part of JROTC. "WE ARE NOT RECRUITERS". Uniforms are provided at no cost to the students.

JROTC is a student lead program that teaches citizenship, leadership and useful skill subjects like first aid, map reading, organization and planning skills. JROTC prepares college bound and workforce students with self-discipline and an enhanced resume that cites solid leadership positions to aid in obtaining scholarship/jobs. Students who think they want to go into the military after high school get an introduction to rank structure and drill. Cadets who complete two years of JROTC can enter the military with an initial promotion and those who complete three years can earn two promotions. JROTC also is helpful in obtaining College ROTC scholarships and Academy Appointments.
