 Dr. Jacquelyn L. Denson was born in Anniston, Alabama and was nurtured in Brewton, Alabama.  She is the oldest of three children born to the late Reverend Dr. Herman J. Lancaster and Mrs. Emma Q. Lancaster.  She graduated from T.R. Miller High School in 1979.  That same year she was the talent winner of the Escambia County Jr. Miss Pageant.   She graduated from Talladega College, Talladega, Alabama in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Piano Performance.  In 1997 she received the Master of Music Education degree from Alabama State University, Montgomery, Alabama. 

Dr. Denson lived in Monroeville, Alabama for 21 years.  While there, she founded and directed the Monroe County Interdenominational Mass Choir.  The choir has traveled extensively with the play, "To Kill A Mockingbird" to the following places:  Jerusalem, Israel (1996), Kingston-Upon-Hull, England (1998), The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington, DC (2000), London, England (2004) and the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art (2005). The choir has been the opener for national gospel recording artists Richard Smallwood, Fred Hammond and Dottie Peoples.  

The Choir performed in Hong Kong, China in 2012 for the Asian Society.She has produced two CD's for the Monroe County Interdenominational Mass Choir, "Breaking Away" and "Spiritual Circle". 

Dr. Denson has also been involved in a project with, as Entertainment Tonight” Executive Producer:  Linda Bell Blue dubbed , The Artist to The  Stars, Dr. Joseph Nicolosi.  Dr. Nicolosi was commissioned to create a stamp for the US Postal Service in commeration of the 50th Anniversary of the book, "To Kill A Mockingbird".  He has created portraits for a galaxy of celebrities, including Ashton  Kutch1`er, Brandon Roth, Debbie Reynolds, Kirk Douglas, Author;  Harper Lee, HRH Prince Charles of England (His  Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales), Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan, Mrs.  Frank Sinatra, President Barack Obama and most recently Helen Reddy and the Commadores, among many  others.


Dr. Denson is the Presiding Elder of the Camden District of the 9th Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. She and her husband, the Reverend Willie J. Denson reside in Andalusia, Alabama.
