My name is Verdie L. Coleman III and I am an English instructor at Wilcox Central High School teaching seniors. My main organization that I work with is the Drama and Arts club as an assistant to Dr. Denson. I have helped with Christmas plays and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. I went to the University of West Alabama where I received my bachelor’s in English, minor in Journalism, and my Masters of Arts of Teaching in English. I am originally from Butler, AL. I love to write poetry and prose, hang out with people, meet new people, travel, eat and cook new recipes. I’ve been performing poetry for 7 years and writing for 13 years. I’ve done public speaking events for 15 years ranging from giving speeches to delivering spoken word pieces on stage. Teaching is more than a job to me. Teaching is a calling on my life that at first I did not accept. After wandering around in college, I finally found my motivation to accept God’s calling into teaching and finished up in college where now I teach to educate, encourage and edify.
