I started my nursing career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) obtained from Alabama Southern Community College, Thomasville, AL. I continued my education in nursing and received an Associated Degree in Nursing from Wallace Community College, Selma, AL. I obtained coursework in Career and Technical Education from Athens State University, Athens, AL. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from University of Phoenix, Phoenix, AZ. In 2017, I obtained a Master's Degree in Nursing - Nurse Educator from the University of Phoenix.


I worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Thomasville Infirmary Hospital, Thomasville, AL for three years and during that time the hospital changed its name to Southwest Alabama Medical Center. I continued to work at the hospital for an additional seven years as a Registered Nurse (RN) until the facility closed its doors in August 2011. I also did some travel nursing to several larger hospitals. My major area of work was Medical-Surgical. I have working experience in the Surgery Department, Emergency Room, Geri-Psychiatric, and Home Health. I am currently teaching Career/Technical Education Health Science. This program introduces high school student to the health profession. It offers credentials in Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Patient-Care Technician (PCT) to high school seniors. I am also an American Heart Association BLS Instructor and provide First AID/CPR/AED training and renewal for health care workers. In addition, I am an Adjunct CNA instructor for Coastal Alabama Community College, Thomasville, AL.
